Gua Sha is an ancient face massage whose methods, techniques and instruments are based on TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Massage with a Gua Sha tool gives your skin an immediate glow and reduces swelling.
Compared to the gentle Facial Roller, Gua Sha goes deeper into the tissue and achieves clearly visible and long-lasting effects. From the very first application, massaging with the Gua Sha tool visibly reduces swelling and the improved blood circulation of the skin provides immediate glow.
Application on the face
Use your Gua Sha daily or several times a week for 3 to 5 minutes at a time. After cleansing your face, apply a serum or oil to your skin to achieve the glide required for the massage.
Repeat each movement at least five times per batch, starting in going out. Always focus on one side of your face first and when you are done with this, change sides. Move the tool back and forth with a little pressure at the end of each movement.
Make sure to place the Gua Sha crystal flat so that the edge of the tool does not press directly on the skin.
Tip: The Gua Sha tool can also be used on the rest of the body to help the lymphatic system detoxify and regulate water in skin and tissue. Again, use a moisturizing lotion or oil and move the crystal across your skin with appropriate pressure, always towards the heart.
Neck ⏤ To open the lymph channels and facilitate the drainage of lymphatic fluid in the face, apply gentle pressure with the Gua Sha tool from the collarbone towards the jaw, from bottom to top, across your neck. Make at least five strokes per session.
Jaw and chin ⏤ Move your Gua Sha tool up from the middle of your chin to the earlobe to contour the jaw.
Lips ⏤ Slide over your lips 5-7 times to relax the muscles here and make the lips appear larger.
Cheek ⏤ Start at the nose and slide up over the cheeks and cheekbones, moving outwards to your ears and temples.
Under the eyes ⏤ Start at the inner corners of the eyes and slide outwards to the temples. Be especially gentle here as there is very thin and sensitive skin around the eyes.
Brows ⏤ Glide upwards from under the eyebrow towards the hairline and temple – from inside to outside.
Forehead ⏤ Start in the middle of your forehead and divide your forehead into three sections and slide outwards with the tool: left, right and up.
Neck ⏤ To get the lymphatic fluid in your face flowing, slide the Gua Sha tool from your jaw down your neck towards your collarbone. Again, make at least five strokes per game.
Clean the Gua Sha after each application with a mild soap and warm water to remove bacteria and product residues. After washing, it is best to air dry the crystal.
