How we choose sustainable brands

To create our online shop, we carefully handpicked the most aesthetic products from a selection of ethical and sustainable brands. Although our curation is mostly based on our taste, the brands we choose to feature on the site are thoughtfully selected. Our choices are based on two main aspects: ethics and ecology. We want all of our brands to propose fair working conditions and to make several ecological efforts. Our priority goes to the brands who are born with a positive message and a will to change the status quo.

For us, the baseline when we select brands is to make sure that they follow strict policies in the manufacturing of the products. Our priority is that human lives are respected. We always investigate to know where the materials come from, where the products are made and how. You will find mostly european made products, with a few sustainable exceptions. Brands that empower local communities are also on our radar. All of our products come with a story regarding their designer and manufacturer. We have a very strong attachment to these human values, which is why we only work with brands that are transparent and honest with these issues.

The pollution of our soils is a big concern to us, which is why we strongly encourage organic products. While there aren’t enough clothing brands that have made the switch yet, all of our cosmetics and foods are certified organic for health reasons, as well as ecological concerns.

us, the greenest options are the products that are manufactured from natural materials. Chemical materials, dyes and overall processing causes a lot of harm and pollution to the planet. From cosmetics to clothes and everyday objects, we want you to be able to switch to healthier alternatives, for you and the planet. Hemp, linen and bamboo fibre are amongst our favorites amongst textile choices. For cosmetics, it will be natural oils, organic butters and healthy pigments.

The slow life is the lifestyle we try to practice every day. It aims to reduce our ever growing thirst for buying stuff. Regarding brands, going slow means taking the time to manufacture each product with care. It’s a symbol of quality as well as respect towards workers and the planet. It also guarantees that products are not over-produced and do not generate unnecessary waste.

An emphasis is always put on local brands and projects that empower local communities. We are particularly supportive to our swiss fellows who are trying to make a difference. We also carefully look at how brands encourage manufacturing in small communities and how they make a difference regarding their own communities.

While we understand that not every one is involved in a vegan lifestyle, we still keep away from animal sourced products as much as possible. It is known that most leather tanneries do not follow ethical practices, slaughterhouses are cruel places and livestock is very polluting. Therefore, these practices do not follow our sustainability guidelines. On the other hand, we’re not too fond of vegan alternatives that are made from plastic. Veganism AND sustainability are intertwined on our platform !
